Veronica Bäcklund

This Swedish defensive midfielder is a relentless force of nature whose brutal physicality and explosive pace command the pitch with absolute authority. While her lateral jockeying can sometimes be clumsy, she compensates with infinite stamina, once having chased down a bicycle thief for three kilometers before delivering a textbook tackle to reclaim the ball. Her assertive presence makes her an absolute nightmare for any opposing attacker.
