GOALS terminology
What the terms in GOALS mean, and where each one came from.
Official wording. Used in the game itself or in a patch note.
A name players came up with. Not used in the game or in a patch note.
A general gaming term. Used in GOALS, but not specific to it.
A regular short cross. Played with Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox.
Random number generation — the luck in an outcome rather than the skill. In GOALS it usually means pack luck: which cards you pull, and what potential range they come with.
A criticism of the meta, not a compliment: the claim that you have to spin to win a game.
Turning back and forth with the ball while making slow progress upfield, so a defender never gets a clean angle to tackle from.
Winning the ball with a tackle and immediately losing it again. You get possession, but before you can control it or pass, the player you took it from tackles you back.
