This Ecuadorian center-back is an impenetrable wall with elite speed, though his aerial awareness leaves much to be desired. Before every match, he insists on kissing a plastic spoon hidden in his left boot, a bizarre ritual that leaves teammates bewildered and often annoyed in the tunnel. He plays with absolute cockiness, knowing full well that no attacker can get past his precise slide tackles and interceptions.
