José Villarroel

This humble Chilean centre-back combines supernatural athletic leaps with an impeccable tackling ability. He remembers winning a childhood bet by climbing a tall tree just to prove he could intercept a loose ball on a rooftop, showing the same determination for blocking that he brings to every pitch today. Although his defensive reading is astute, he sometimes hesitates unnecessarily in his top-end sprint speed when chasing down rapid strikers.
