Gianni Vercruysse

This Belgian center-forward packs blistering acceleration and lethal long-range shooting, though he often stumbles with mediocre technical finesse. To stay locked in, he insists on chewing a clove of raw garlic before kickoff, a bizarre ritual that keeps teammates steering clear of his breath until the whistle. He is a premier talent whose searing pace on the pitch is rivaled only by the pungent smell of his eccentric superstition.
